Camp Inspire 2024

Camp Inspire at Gwynedd: a STEAM & Confidence Camp for Girls

photo collage of students

At Camp Inspire at Gwynedd we believe that girls should rule the world! Or, at the very least, be equipped with the education, skills and self-esteem that leads them to believe that they can. Research has shown that by the age of 6, young girls do not believe that they are as smart as boys. As adults we often unintentionally compound that belief by steering girls away from careers that lead to the boardroom (i.e., technology, business, science) towards careers that are more ‘traditionally female’. We invite you to join us so that we can disrupt this pattern, together.

Students applying for Camps Inspire must be entering Grades 6-8 as of September 2024. Participation is limited. Camp Inspire is intentionally designed to create a small, intimate atmosphere in which our diverse camp participants can confidently build meaningful relationships with their peers and teen facilitators  - current Gwynedd students who serve as Camp Counselors.

Students can select ONE camp per week (i.e. Art: Superstar Stenciling & Printmaking OR Music Video Studio) and may apply to up to 2 weeks of Camp Inspire.  Half the day is dedicated to STEAM Curriculum selected on your application and the other half is dedicated to the Confidence Camp. All students are required to attend the full day of camp - no exceptions.

Location: Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School
Time: 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Camp Tuition: $275.00 (plus materials fee, if applicable)

Did you know that Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School has a robust STEAM program? We have multiple state of the art science labs, a hydroponic  garden, courses in forensic science, engineering and robotics as well as a variety of AP and Honors level science courses. We have drones, VR equipment, laser cutters, robots and more! We also have amazing artistic space overlooking our Monarch butterfly meadow and dedicated space for music class and independent music practice. In addition to an orchestra and chorus we also have bands such as Jazz Band and Girls with Guitars. Between the courses, clubs and electives Gwynedd is a amazing school for STEAM creativity.

Gwynedd reserves the right to cancel or change the structure and format if it deems necessary. Camp Inspire at Gwynedd is an in-person camp on our beautiful campus. Gwynedd Mercy follows all CDC and Montgomery County Department of Health guidelines for summer camps.
